50 Northern Signal Squadron

The 50 Northern Signal Squadron provide IT and communications for the Armed Forces. The Royal Corps of Signals is responsible for all communications, information systems and networks in the operational environment, including on the battlefield. The work of The Corps includes:establishing and maintaining tactical and strategic communications equipment and systems, together with all necessary applications, data and any software development in support of these.

Bignall Group

BignallGroup is designers and developers of light engineered products, with a manufacturing facility and multiple product groups. They sell in 20 different countries across multiple industries, with the common thread being that design and innovation are at the core of everything they do.

Cleveland Bridge

Cleveland Bridge is a global leader in Technology Based Engineering, Construction and Steel Fabrication Services. Their list of achievements spans the world and includes iconic structures such as Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge, Westminster Road Bridge, Tyne Bridge, Sydney Harbour Bridge and so many more!

Cummins

Cummins is a global company who design, manufacture and distribute diesel engines which are used all over the world. Darlington Engine Plant opened in 1965. Since then, they have produced more than 1.5 million engines which are used in a wide range of vehicles including trucks, coaches, tractors and even boats! Cummins also power the new London buses and recently Darlington Engine plant refitted an iconic 1962 Route master London bus with a brand new engine, making it ‘greener’ by reducing its emissions significantly.

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service provide a service to over 620,000 people spread over almost 2,460 square kilometres. Front-line fire engines are equipped with state of the art rescue equipment and there is a fleet of specialist appliances for use during road traffic collisions, water rescues and other specialist rescues.

Darlington Police

Darlington Police, Durham Constabulary is the territorial police force responsible for policing the non-metropolitan county of County Durham and the unitary authority of Darlington. You will find them in the marquee at the festival, providing an activity tied to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Hobgoblin3D

Hobgoblin-3D is a company with the goal of providing the home use 3D Printing sector with a wide range of high quality, cheap and modular STL files. At the festival, you can see their 3D printer at work in the marquee.

Modus

Modus Seabed Intervention provides Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to the energy, telecommunications and defence sectors for a range of activities. At the Festival, one of their AUVs will be towering over the Market Square.

Nifco

Nifco UK is part of a global company, they design and produce components for the automotive industry with customers including Nissan, Jaguar and Ford. Their products can be found in the interior, exterior and engines of many vehicles worldwide – things including the oil cap, engine thermostat housing and even parts inside the car door. You are highly likely to have come into contact with a product manufactured by Nifco!

RTC North

RTC North currently holds the STEM Ambassador Hub contract for the North East of England. This enables young people to develop their creativity, problem-solving and employability skills, widens their choice and supports the UK’s future competitiveness. The North East STEM Ambassador Hub is one of 19 national Hubs that coordinate the volunteering opportunities of over 30,000 STEM Ambassador volunteers across the UK. The Hub offers a range of support, opportunities and local expertise, developing links between groups and individuals working to enhance young people's STEM education.

RTC North is this year running our  STEM event for Secondary Schools on Friday 12th July, with support from STEM UK and Tees Valley Combined Authority.
